My Story
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I’ve been in the mental health field for over 10 years throughout the Boise area. I believe and have seen people change and grow. I don't believe there is a limit to human capacity. Most of us have developed mental health issues due to unhealthy learned behaviors that we've picked up along the way. We then come to place where those behaviors no longer work effectively. We have the inner strength to replace those faulty behaviors and replace with new ones, sometimes we just need some help facilitating that self-growth. If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, my services aim to introduce clarity and self-motivation. I also teach techniques to better manage the emotional stress of everyday life.

Therapy services
Depression, Anxiety, Trauma/PTSD, Relationships, Codependency, Supportive, EMDR, IFS, and STAIR.
I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy.

EMDR
Free Yourself from the Confines of the Past
EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages us to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. As well as depression and anxiety.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Embrace Life’s Challenges
ACT is a type of psychotherapy that emphasizes acceptance as a way to deal with negative thoughts, feelings, symptoms, or circumstances. It also encourages increased commitment to healthy, constructive activities that uphold your values or goals.
GOAL of ACT is not to reduce the frequency or severity of unpleasant internal experiences like upsetting cognitive distortions, emotions, or urges. Rather, the goal is to reduce your struggle to control or eliminate these experiences while simultaneously increasing your involvement in meaningful life activities (i.e., those activities that are consistent with your personal values).

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Reduce feelings of Self-Blame and Guilt
CPT is found to be effective for treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With PTSD, you may find yourself thinking very differently about yourself and your environment, particularly in the following five areas.
Safety: You may doubt your ability to protect yourself and others. Trust: You may question your judgment and, or, the judgment and intentions of others. Power/Control: You feel unable to control your own life and, or, to influence the lives of those you care about. Esteem: You view yourself and, or, others differently, perhaps seeing yourself as broken or others as evil. Intimacy: You may feel incapable of connecting with or being understood and accepted by others.
These thoughts lead to negative emotions, such as fear, anxiety, guilt, and anger, and can halt your recovery. CPT focuses on teaching a set of skills that will help you challenge these negative thoughts and gain control over the impact they have on your life.
Relationship/Codependency
Emotional Sobriety
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation or others, we can take control of how we respond. With therapy sessions, you’ll learn about acceptance, your patterns and how to exert your power of choice over whatever life may throw at you.

STAIR GROUP
(Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation)
Skills Based group for those who have experienced trauma
STAIR is a 12-weeks skills-based group designed for individuals who have experienced trauma. Does not need a dx of PTSD.
Participants in STAIR group will learn and practice skills including:
-How to become more comfortable with all of your emotions
- Positive, healthy, coping skills for distressing feelings
-How to identify unhealthy relationship patters
- Skills to build healthier relationships
We will not discuss traumatic events; this is a skills-based forum.
IFS (Internal Family Systems)
IFS is a transformative tool that conceives of every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Your therapy session can take place while walking or hiking with me. You choose a path, park or trail, and we will take a walk for the duration of your session, and you discuss what you want while we're walking.
